Ssali presents these portraits in collaboration with the authors and their representatives. Personal photography, film and campaign materials appear by arrangement and with permission. Public programmes and historical material retain their original context and credits.

PHOTOGRAPHY, FILM & AUTHOR PORTRAITS

The authorised archives.

Personal and family films, campaign artwork, studio photography and wardrobe portraits are presented from the authors’ authorised archives. Names and settings follow the authors’ editorial records. Third-party photography is credited alongside the image or programme.

Rose’s personal portrait uses a gentle display brightness adjustment; her face and original photograph remain unchanged. Backdrop films are muted until the viewer chooses sound. The chess scene between Leroy and Nelson is a ten-second editorial cut.
