THE LAW SOCIETY OF KENYA

A profession,
with a public duty.

With roots in 1948, the Law Society of Kenya places professional standards, legal knowledge and the rule of law at the centre of its mission. Its work connects the profession with the courts, government and the people the law serves.

For writers formed in law, that public responsibility continues on the page: explaining, questioning, making an argument others can enter.

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI / FACULTY OF LAW

The classroom.
And everything after.

The Faculty of Law became a full faculty in 1970, growing from an earlier commercial-law department within the Faculty of Commerce. Its classrooms have helped form generations who would carry legal knowledge into practice, teaching and public debate.

Among its alumni is PLO Lumumba. The connection between legal formation and a public voice is part of his continuing story.

THE CAMPUS HOLDS ITS MEMORIES

Before the speech,
there was a place to read.

Buildings outlast a student’s years. A library, a hall, the space between lectures: ordinary places become part of a country’s intellectual memory.
